In the Digital Concert Hall you can experience the great musicians of our time both on stage and behind the scenes. In interviews that can be watched for free – conducted mostly by members of the Berliner Philharmoniker – they talk about their lives, their art and their concert repertoire.
Movies
It isn’t only in the Digital Concert Hall that outstanding films have been made about the Berliner Philharmoniker. In this section we would like to present a selection of these, including the award-winning cinema feature films Rhythm Is It! and Trip to Asia.
Education
The Education Programme of the Berliner Philharmoniker introduces people of all ages to the work of the orchestra. The Digital Concert Hall documents this programme in recordings of exciting dance projects and family concerts for even the youngest of music fans. And it doesn’t cost anything to watch them!
Claudio Abbado
When Claudio Abbado became chief conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1989 following the death of Herbert von Karajan, it was a major change for the orchestra – and the beginning of a very happy partnership. Highlights of this era are documented in sound and pictures in the Digital Concert Hall.
