On 23 August, Kirill Petrenko took over the position of chief conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker with a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony that was acclaimed by press and public alike.

One day later, the conductor and orchestra presented Beethoven’s work in an open-air concert at the Brandenburg Gate. An audience of 35,000 Berliners gave the new chief conductor an enthusiastic reception.

An exclusive edition for customers of the Digital Concert Hall presents the concert from the Philharmonie on CD, and the concert from the Brandenburg Gate on DVD. The edition is limited to 2,000 copies and is not available commercially.
