Murray Perahia

Piano

Murray Perahia is known for his clear yet warm touch – and for allowing his instrument to breathe, with a keen sense of the grand arc. In 1977, he made his debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of Riccardo Muti, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C minor, K. 491. This was the beginning of a long and artistically fruitful collaboration. In 2011/12, Perahia was Artist in Residence with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and in the following season he also appeared with the orchestra as a conductor for the first time.
