Maximilian Hornung
Violoncelle
At the age of 23, Maximilian Hornung became first principal cellist with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Four years later, the musician, who received support from the Anne-Sophie-Mutter Foundation, gave up the position to devote himself – with great success – to his solo career. Since then, the virtuoso, who comes from a family of musicians in Augsburg, has played his way into the top of his profession with breathtaking technique and a beautiful and versatile tone. As a soloist, he performs with the world’s most renowned orchestras – including with the Berliner Philharmoniker in the 2025/26 season.
