Maximilian Hornung
CelloAt the age of 23, Maximilian Hornung became first principal cellist with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Four years later, the musician, who received support from the Anne-Sophie-Mutter Foundation, gave up the position to devote himself – with great success – to his solo career. Since then, the virtuoso, who comes from a family of musicians in Augsburg, has played his way into the top of his profession with breathtaking technique and a beautiful and versatile tone. As a soloist, he performs with the world’s most renowned orchestras – including with the Berliner Philharmoniker in the 2025/26 season.
