帕沃·雅尔维对话艾曼纽·帕胡德 (18 分钟)

At the beginning of May 2018, Paavo Järvi conducted not only the Berliner Philharmoniker’s traditional European concert (which this year took place in Bayreuth) for the first time, but also a second programme in the orchestra’s Berlin base, the Philharmonie. In this video, the Estonian musician who emigrated with his family to America at the age of 19, meets for a chat with the Philharmoniker’s principal flute, Emmanuel Pahud. In addition to Järvi’s memories of the Soviet era, topics covered include the works of Sibelius and Shostakovich performed in Berlin. Among other things, the conductor explains why the conclusion of Shostakovich’s Sixth Symphony is only supposedly to be understood as ending on a happy note.
