The Berliner Philharmoniker and Frank Peter Zimmermann

The Berliner Philharmoniker enjoy a fruitful partnership with many distinguished guests – and a deep friendship with some of them. One such friend is Frank Peter Zimmermann. His performances form a link between generations of musicians; there is scarcely a conductor who has left a lasting mark on the orchestra in recent years who has not worked with this exceptional violinist. This edition brings together four snapshots of this deep musical connection: Béla Bartók’s two violin concertos, Alban Berg’s concerto dedicated “To the Memory of an Angel”, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s famous solo work.
