Patricia Kopatchinskaja conversa con Ulrich Knörzer (16 min)
Patricia Kopatchinskaja is considered one of the younger generation’s most exciting violinists. Both her unconventional and idiosyncratic interpretations of well-known classical repertoire and her commitment to contemporary music have caused a sensation and enthralled audiences. She has a close artistic relationship with the Hungarian composer and conductor Peter Eötvös, whose Violin Concerto DoReMi she performed with great success as part of her debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker. The conductor of the concert in September of 2014 was the composer himself. In an interview with the violist Ulrich Knörzer, the violinist talks about her admiration for Peter Eötvös, the exhilarating position of being able to collaborate with the composer of a work, and her delight at her first appearance together with the Berliner Philharmoniker. She also discusses the works of the Russian composer Galina Ustvolskaya which she performed in a Late Night concert with pianist Markus Hinterhäuser and is also available in the Digital Concert Hall.
