As a conductor, pianist, composer and organist, Sir Wayne Marshall is a musical crossover artist who bridges different styles, and who captivates his audiences with thoughtfully curated programmes and spellbinding performances. The British musician places a particular emphasis on the music of Gershwin, Bernstein, and contemporary American composers such as John Williams. He made his acclaimed debut as a conductor with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2021 – in the open air at the Waldbühne. As a pianist, Marshall has previously appeared as a guest in the orchestra’s concerts, as well as in the organ series, which he opened in the 2022/23 season.
