Kirill Petrenko conducts “Hansel and Gretel”
Two brave children use their wits to escape the clutches of a witch – Engelbert Humperdinck turned the popular fairy tale Hansel and Gretel into an opera that continues to enchant audiences of all ages to this day. The blend of folk-song-like melodies and an orchestral sound inspired by Richard Wagner is unique. The colourful staged performance to mark the 25th anniversary of the Education Programme is conducted by Kirill Petrenko.
