Soloists of the Berliner Philharmoniker: Bruno Delepelaire
In this release of the Soloists of the Berliner Philharmoniker series, Bruno Delepelaire performs Joseph Haydn’s Second Cello Concerto and Édouard Lalo’s only concerto for the cello. The 1st principal cellist describes Haydn’s music as “very subtle, transparent, yet also extremely expressive”. Lalo’s “wonderful work for the cello”, Delepelaire says, “not only offers the soloist the opportunity to display their virtuosity, but also allows the cello to sing and speak with great intensity”.
