Kirill Petrenko conducts Strauss’s “The Woman without a Shadow” Magical sounds – the verrophone
For the climactic moment at the end of his opera The Woman without a Shadow, Richard Strauss used a very special effect: the vibrating glass of the verrophone accompanies the transformation scene with magical sounds. Philipp Marguerre introduces this extraordinary instrument.
