Nicola Beller Carbone sang her signature role, the title role in Strauss’s Salome, “with the voice of an Isolde” (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) to delighted audiences in Turin, Geneva, Monte Carlo, Brussels, Zurich, Montreal and Stockholm, among others. As Elektra, “who gets under your skin” (Kleine Zeitung), she has also enjoyed enormous success with audiences and critics alike. Born in Germany and raised in Spain, the soprano has specialised in the 20th century repertoire with roles such as Katerina Ismailova (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk), Marie (Wozzeck), Die Frau (Erwartung) and Elle (La voix humaine).
