Gustavo Dudamel conducts Mahler’s Seventh
Gustavo Dudamel is one of the great Mahler conductors, and has consistently delighted audiences with his passionate yet detailed interpretations, including with the Berliner Philharmoniker. Here he presents the Seventh Symphony – a work that captivates listeners with, among other things, its atmospherically rich Nachtmusik movements. “It really has everything,” says Dudamel, “grief, sarcasm, grandeur, chaos, beauty” – the Venezuelan conductor even detects hints of tango in the score.
