Imogen Cooper in conversation with Matthew Hunter (13 min.)
The English pianist Imogen Cooper, who made her debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1991, enjoys success as a soloist, a chamber musician and as a composer. Under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle, with whom she has been performing together for many years, the musician performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s 25th piano concerto in June 2017. In this interview, Imogen Cooper talks about the main creative impulses she gained from her intensive work with Alfred Brendel, about her self-understanding as an artist, and the desire to pass on her own experiences to young musicians. The interviewer is the American violist Matthew Hunter, who became a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1996.
