“Carmen” at the Berlin Philharmonie (17 min.)
Probably no other opera has so many “hits” as Carmen – from the orchestral preludes to the Habanera and the Toreador Song. But despite its popularity, Carmen can always be discovered anew, as was also the case at this performance by the Berliner Philharmoniker and Sir Simon Rattle on 21 April 2012, which brought together the exciting combination of Magdalena Kožená and Jonas Kaufmann in the leading roles. In addition, the musicians had a very special version for their interpretation. In our bonus video, the musicians talk about the work, and there is also a look behind the scenes during the rehearsals.
