In this video, Christian Tetzlaff discusses the 2014/2015 season when he was Artist in Residence with the Berliner Philharmoniker. His performances ranged from a solo recital to chamber music concerts with members of the orchestra and a programme with the Orchestra Academy to a performance of Brahms’s Violin Concerto under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle which formed the grand finale of Tetzlaff’s year with the Philharmoniker. The time frame of the composers he chose to perform ranged from Johann Sebastian Bach to Jörg Widmann. One of the most significant violinists of his generation, Tetzlaff made his debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1995, almost 20 years before his Residency. When programming the concerts, it was particularly important to him to express the whole diversity of his musical interests. If you happened to miss any of Tetzlaff’s performances, recordings of all four concerts in the series can be seen in the Digital Concert Hall.
