Vilde Frang began her career at the age of twelve when Mariss Jansons invited the young violinist to make her debut with the Oslo Philharmonic under his direction. In 2012, the Norwegian was unanimously awarded the Credit Suisse Young Artist Award and performed with the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Bernard Haitink at the Lucerne Festival. Her highly acclaimed debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2016 at the Europakonzert in Røros was another significant milestone in Vilde Frang’s career. The very next year she made her debut in the orchestra’s concerts at the Philharmonie Berlin.

Vilde Frang studied at the Academy Barratt Due in her native city of Oslo as well as under Kolja Blacher at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg, and Ana Chumachenco at the Kronberg Academy. She was also a scholarship holder of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation, which supports highly talented young musicians. As winner of the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship, Vilde Frang also worked with Mitsuko Uchida. She makes guest appearances with the world’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London and Chicago Symphony Orchestras and the Israel Philharmonic, working with conductors such as Manfred Honeck, Zubin Mehta, Herbert Blomstedt, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Sir Simon Rattle. As a soloist, the violinist has performed at the Vienna Musikverein, the Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Tonhalle Zurich and the Bozar in Brussels. She is also a welcome guest at the festivals in Salzburg, Verbier, Lucerne, Lockenhaus as well as at the New York Mostly Mozart Festival and the George Enescu Festival Bucharest.
