The John Adams Edition

John Adams is one of the leading musical voices in America. His work blends minimalism with imaginative orchestration and jazz-influenced panache, a world brimming with energy and colour. During the 2016/17 season, John Adams was the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Composer in Residence. As a result, this edition offers a fascinating mix of familiar works and new discoveries: Alan Gilbert presents the fast-paced Short Ride in a Fast Machine, Gustavo Dudamel the evocative City Noir, and Adams himself conducts his Harmonielehre.
