The Berliner Philharmoniker and Frank Peter Zimmermann
It is more than a long-standing partnership that connects the Berliner Philharmoniker with violinist Frank Peter Zimmermann – it is a friendship. This interview film reflects the special closeness between soloist and orchestra as well as with chief conductor Kirill Petrenko, Alan Gilbert and Daniel Harding. It was made during the joint recording of the violin concertos by Beethoven, Berg and Bartók, about which Zimmermann says: “A greater honour than recording these four concertos is hardly imaginable.”
