Welcome to the 2016/2017 season! (5 min.)

After returning from their summer holidays, members of the Berliner Philharmoniker welcome audiences to the 2016/2017 season and tell us which projects in the concert calendar they are most looking forward to. A wide variety of new discoveries will be provided by works of the American composer John Adams, who also conducts the orchestra as Artist in Residence. In addition to the symphonies of Gustav Mahler and Johannes Brahms, the Verdi Requiem and Puccini’s Tosca, the musicians are very excited about their concert with Kirill Petrenko in March 2017 which will be the first time they perform together since they elected him as their new chief conductor.
