Musicians of the Berliner Philharmoniker on Daniel Barenboim (4 min.)
Daniel Barenboim debuted as pianist with the Berliner Philharmoniker in June 1964. Conducted by Pierre Boulez, the programme included Béla Bartók’s First Piano Concerto. Fifty years later, Barenboim and the orchestra celebrated a half century of intense and exhilarating collaboration with a performance of Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1. In honour of this occasion, members of the Philharmoniker such as bassoonist Mor Biron, flautist Emmanuel Pahud, violinists Philipp Bohnen and Christian Stadelmann and French horn player Sarah Willis share their memories of Barenboim concerts and congratulate the eminent musician on his anniversary.
