Magdalena Kožená and Sir Simon Rattle in conversation and in rehearsal (8 min.)
In January 2012, the Berliner Philharmoniker and Sir Simon Rattle presented a concert which conveyed delicate melancholy in a variety of forms. In addition to orchestral works by Ravel and Schubert – including Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony – the programme included late songs by Dvořák and Mahler. The soloist was the internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená, who has been married to Simon Rattle since 2008. In our video, Magdalena Kožená and Simon Rattle talk about the works of the evening, plus there are excerpts from the rehearsals.
