A world premiere and the famous Deutsches Requiem by Johannes Brahms were conducted by Donald Runnicles with the Berliner Philharmoniker during the 2009 Christmas season. Fergus McWilliam, horn player with the orchestra, met the Scottish conductor for a chat.
