Jean-Christophe Spinosi and Philippe Jaroussky in conversation with Solène Kermarrec (16 min.)
Jean-Christophe Spinosi and Philippe Jaroussky have a long-standing artistic partnership. In June 2021, the conductor and the countertenor made their debuts with the Berliner Philharmoniker in a programme of works by Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart and Rossini. For the interview, they met with cellist Solène Kermarrec, who has been a member of the orchestra since 2006. Jaroussky spoke about the challenge of singing Rossini arias in the concert hall for the first time, Spinosi about the poetry of the “mechanics” of the Italian opera composer’s works, and his view of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony.
