John Storgårds and Matthew McDonald
John Storgårds in conversation with Esko Laine
“I always have my violin with me,” says conductor John Storgårds. Before the Finnish musician began his second career conducting international orchestras, he was a highly sought-after concertmaster. Before his first appearance with the Berliner Philharmoniker, he spoke with Esko Laine, the orchestra’s 1st principal bass, about his debut with works by Bruckner, Barry and Nielsen.
