Martin Grubinger, la « star de la multi-percussion qui se livre en concert à des acrobaties vertigineuses sur ses divers instruments » (Süddeutsche Zeitung), fait ses débuts avec les Berliner Philharmoniker. Speaking Drums de Peter Eötvös offre à Grubinger l’occasion de démontrer toute l’étendue de son époustouflante polyvalence. Le chef d’orchestre Zubin Mehta dirige par ailleurs l’exotique et suggestive suite Schéhérazade de Nikolaï Rimski-Korsakov.
