Myung-Whun Chung

conductor

“He should be invited to conduct more of the orchestra’s concerts,” wrote the Berliner Morgenpost following Myung-Whun Chung’s successful debut with the Philharmoniker on 30 May 1984. The conductor, born in Seoul, in 1953, who lived in France for many years and worked at the Paris Opera and with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, had – as the critics unanimously agreed – made a “compelling first impression”. Since then, Myung-Whun Chung has, of course, been a frequent guest of the Berliner Philharmoniker, as well as other leading orchestras.
