New Year’s Eve Concert with Kirill Petrenko and Jonas Kaufmann
The New Year’s Eve Concert will be dominated by high drama – it revolves around blood revenge, incest and pure lovers’ bliss. Siegmund in Wagner’s Walküre is a signature role for Jonas Kaufmann, who sings it with passion and strength. Kirill Petrenko conducts the first act of the opera at this concert. The programme opens with excerpts from Tannhäuser, which encapsulate the grandeur of the plot. We will present a special accompanying programme 30 minutes before the concert begins.
