Joyce DiDonato in conversation with Noah Bendix-Balgley (12 min.)

After delighting audiences in her first two appearances with the Berliner Philharmoniker with works by Hector Berlioz, Joyce DiDonato performed orchestral songs by Richard Strauss at the Philharmoniker’s 2017 New Year’s Eve Concert under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle. In addition, the mezzo-soprano sang Leonard Bernstein’s “Take Care of This House” which, referring to the residence of the American president, has particular resonance in the current political context.
