Tabea Zimmermann in conversation with Julia Gartemann (15 min.)
The violist Tabea Zimmermann, who was awarded the renowned Ernst von Siemens Music Prize in 2020, is one of the great musicians of our time. In the 2020/21 season, she is Artist in Residence with the Berliner Philharmoniker, with whom she has performed several times since 1992. In addition to chamber music concerts and a performance with the students of the Karajan Academy, this intensive collaboration also included Paul Hindemith’s viola concerto Der Schwanendreher. In this interview with violist and orchestra member Julia Gartemann, Zimmermann talks not only about this little-known work, but also about her activities as a musician and teacher.
