Marc Minkowski in conversation with Bruno Delepelaire (11 min.)
After a long absence, conductor Marc Minkowski returned to the Berliner Philharmoniker in October 2020. Minkowski, founder of the ensemble Les Musiciens du Louvre and general director of the Opéra national de Bordeaux, has developed a broad repertoire based on Early music. In addition to Haydn’s 59th Symphony, his appearance with the Philharmoniker also included Beethoven’s The Creatures of Prometheus. In this interview, Minkowski talks about Beethoven’s only and little-known contribution to the genre of ballet music and shares his joy at being able to play in front of an audience again despite the pandemic. He is interviewed by the Philharmoniker’s principal cellist Bruno Delepaire.
