Simon Rattle conducts Roberto Gerhard and Antonín Dvořák
Sir Simon Rattle in conversation with Matthew Hunter
Chief conductor Kirill Petrenko asked Sir Simon Rattle to perform music by “forgotten composers” for his guest performance. “How forgotten are they supposed to be?” asked Rattle in response, with a twinkle in his eye. The result was a fascinating programme of discoveries by Roberto Gerhard and Antonín Dvořák, which the conductor talks about here with Philharmoniker violist Matthew Hunter.
