Concert with Mariss Jansons and Hilary Hahn from Suntory Hall
It is now thirty years since Suntory Hall was opened in Tokyo. Each time that the Berliner Philharmoniker have visited the country during this time, they have appeared in a hall famous all over the world for its outstanding acoustics. In order to mark this anniversary we are presenting a recording of the concert that the orchestra gave in November 2000 with Mariss Jansons and the exceptionally gifted American violinist Hilary Hahn. On the programme are Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony and Shostakovich’s First Violin Concerto.
