Stanisław Skrowaczewski – a life in music (20 min.)

After 25 years, the 87-year-old Stanisław Skrowaczewski stood once again at the desk of the Berliner Philharmoniker at the end of May 2011 – and celebrated an “overwhelming success met by standing ovations” (Berliner Zeitung). The renowned Bruckner expert included the composer’s Third Symphony in the programme: Bruckner’s first fully-fledged Symphony and the only one whose premiere the composer conducted himself. You can find out more background information about this concert in our interval talk with Stanisław Skrowaczewski und Daniel Stabrawa, 1st Concertmaster with the Berliner Philharmoniker.
