Daniel Stabrawa in conversation with Christoph Streuli (17 min.)
Daniel Stabrawa became a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker in Herbert von Karajan’s time, and has been first concertmaster of the orchestra since 1986. In a concert in 2011, he performed Jenő Hubay’s rarely performed Third Violin Concerto with the Philharmoniker under the direction of Iván Fischer. A delightful encounter with a little-known work, especially as Stabrawa’s Stradivarius once belonged to Hubay. Here, the musician talks to his colleague, Philharmoniker violinist Christoph Streuli, about the special features of the work and looks back on important stages of his impressive career.
