Sakari Oramo and Janine Jansen with Sibelius’s Violin Concerto Sakari Oramo in conversation with Stephan Koncz
Rued Langgaard’s First Symphony is the compositional debut of a child prodigy; it speaks of “total delight in one’s own powers”, says Sakari Oramo in conversation with Philharmoniker cellist Stephan Koncz. This is the second time that the orchestra under Oramo’s baton has performed this forgotten symphony – it had already premiered it in 1913.
