Daniel Barenboim and the Berliner Philharmoniker
The 12th of June 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Daniel Barenboim’s debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker. The unique bond that has developed since their first collaboration was honoured in 2019 with his appointment as the orchestra’s only honorary conductor. Our playlist documents some of the most memorable joint performances between 1980 and 2023, in which Barenboim appears both as conductor and pianist under the baton of chief conductors Claudio Abbado and Simon Rattle.
