Impressions of Herbert von Karajan
The 1978 documentary Impressions of Herbert von Karajan was the first major Karajan film biography. Without glorifying him, the film shows the conductor’s diverse interests and talents: not only as a musician but also – for example – as a lover of fast cars and aeroplanes. And as the film was made during Karajan’s lifetime, it gives a very authentic impression of the period.
