Interview
Esa-Pekka Salonen and Olivier Latry on the Sinfonia concertante for Organ and Orchestra Salonen conducts Salonen
Esa-Pekka Salonen can unleash the full dynamic range of an orchestra – both as conductor and composer. We encounter the Finnish native, Composer in Residence for the 2022/23 season, in both roles here. Salonen conducts the German premiere of his Organ Concerto with Olivier Latry as soloist. He also presents the fairy-tale world of Ma Mère l’Oye (Mother Goose) by Maurice Ravel, his Le Tombeau de Couperin and Béla Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin.
