Jakub Hrůša and Yuja Wang

Brilliant, clear and rich in subtle tonal nuances: through her playing, Yuja Wang has established herself as a pianist of the highest international calibre. In Béla Bartók’s rhythmical and dynamic First Piano Concerto, she engages in a charged dialogue with the orchestra – particularly with the percussion section. Conductor Jakub Hrůša contrasts this with Johannes Brahms’s Serenade No. 1: inspired by the First Viennese School, light and dance-like in tone, and imbued with a Romantic pastoral atmosphere.
