Gustavo Dudamel and Mitsuko Uchida
A particularly special premiere: Gustavo Dudamel, a long-standing artistic partner of the Berliner Philharmoniker, takes the podium to conduct Bruckner for the first time – with his Fourth Symphony. According to Bruckner himself, while composing his Romantic Symphony, he was thinking of the atmosphere of an early morning in a medieval town, of knights, and the rustling of the forest. Before that, Mitsuko Uchida performs Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto: a work of youthful charm.
