Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Yefim Bronfman in conversation with Sarah Willis (17 min.)

In October 2010, the Canadian Yannick Nézet-Séguin, then a shooting star among young conductors, celebrated his successful debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker. The programme included works by Messiaen, Berlioz and Prokofiev, in whose Second Piano Concerto Yefim Bronfman excelled as the soloist. Horn player Sarah Willis talks to both artists about the specific appeal of Prokofiev’s elegant and soulful pieces, what it is like working with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and about the challenges and joys that life as an international, much-travelled classical artist entails.
