Till Fellner in conversation with Knut Weber (12 min.)
In December 2015, the Austrian pianist Till Fellner made his Berliner Philharmoniker debut with Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C major, K. 503. Fellner has won, among others, first prize at the Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in 1993, and has performed with numerous world-class orchestras. In an interview with cellist Knut Weber, a member of the orchestra since 1998, Fellner discusses his relationship with Mozart’s music, how much he enjoys working with Maestro Haitink and the Philharmoniker, and of an encounter with the orchestra’s future chief conductor, Kirill Petrenko. Fellner also talks about his interest in the film director Luis Buñuel, the subject of an article he wrote for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung in 2014.
