Gautier Capuçon in conversation with Sarah Willis (13 min.)

Following French cellist Gautier Capuçon’s debut as a soloist with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2012 at the European Concert in Vienna, May 2017 saw him perform Dmitri Shostakovich’s emotionally and technically highly demanding Cello Concerto with the orchestra under the direction of Semyon Bychkov, one of his close artistic friends. Capuçon enjoys global success as a soloist, and he is also known to audiences all over the world as a keen chamber musician. The young generation of artists is also close to his heart, as the orchestra’s horn player Sarah Willis discovers in this conversation.
