Simon Rattle conducts a hundred amateur musicians in the BE PHIL Orchestra
The performance by the BE PHIL Orchestra is one of the most moving projects of the Simon Rattle era. On 21 May 2018, amateur musicians from 30 countries played Johannes Brahms’s First Symphony under the direction of Sir Simon – with great musicality and, above all, unparalleled enthusiasm. For all of them, the concert was an unforgettable experience that once again demonstrated the power that music has to unite people from all over the world.
