Lisa Batiashvili in conversation with Andreas Ottensamer
Lisa Batiashvili and Simon Rattle at the Easter Festival in Baden-Baden
The appearance by the violinist Lisa Batiashvili was a highlight of the 2017 Easter Festival. Lisa Batiashvili not only has spectacular technique, but also the gift of “musical storytelling” (Gramophone magazine). In this recording, she performs a work rich in cantilena, Antonín Dvořák’s Violin Concerto. In Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, Simon Rattle then shows Middle European music from a more angular, but no less appealing, side.
