Zubin Mehta in conversation with Ludwig Quandt Zubin Mehta conducts Mahler’s Third Symphony

Its size, however, corresponded to his ideal conception: it was to reflect nothing less than “the whole world”. At its conclusion is a moving hymn to love. Zubin Mehta conducts this performance of the symphony, Okka von der Damerau sings Nietzsche’s words of warning “Oh Mensch, gib Acht” in the fourth movement.
