François-Xavier Roth with Bruckner’s Third and a world premiere

The Third Symphony is regarded as Anton Bruckner’s problem child. The three versions of this hymn-like work document how much the composer struggled with it. François-Xavier Roth considers the first version from 1873 the most successful, because it reveals the original Bruckner. Also on the programme is the world premiere of a work by Vito Žuraj, winner of the Claudio Abbado Composition Prize.
