Antoni Wit in conversation with Krzysztof Polonek (16 min.)

Krzysztof Penderecki’s monumental St Luke Passion fascinates us with its successful fusion of tradition and avantgarde compositional techniques, ranging from twelve-tone rows to clusters to noisy and spoken passages. In September 2013 the Berliner Philharmoniker applied themselves to the work, conducted by Penderecki’s student Antoni Wit, who here in a conversation with violinist Krzysztof Polonek – also from Cracow originally – speaks about the unsettling Passion.
